KHOROG, December 26, 2008, Asia-Plus -- A training seminar formally titled “From Theory to Practice” for researchers and trainers at the GBAO Institute for Improvement of Professional Education was held in Khorog on December 25.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, international trainer Amin Tejpar, who conducted the seminar, said the main objective of the seminar was to study and discuss application of unconventional, practical methods for teaching natural sciences at general schools.

According to him, at present high school students in Canada, where he lives and works, as well in the United States learn only one natural science till the 10th grade – natural history.  Only in the 10th and 11th grades, students learn subjects such as physics chemistry, biology and geography.

Mr. Tejpar noted that long-term studies by pedagogues and researchers of these countries had proved that “before learning basics of natural sciences school students should see and if it is possible to feel them on the basis of simple examples – natural phenomena and the environment as a whole.”
