DUSHANBE, January 22, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The United Nations Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr. Kai Elde, is arriving in Dushanbe tomorrow on a two-day working visit, according to the MFA information department.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the MFA information department head Davlat Nazriyev said that during his stay in Tajikistan, the UN special envoy to Afghanistan is scheduled to hold talks with President Emomali Rahmon, Foreign Ministry Hamrokhon Zarifi, Energy and Industries Minister Gul Sherali, Agriculture Minister Qosim Qosimov and the Drug Control Agency director Rustam Nazarov.
The talks will focus on issues related to Tajikistan’s support for reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy, regional security and the present situation in Afghanistan, the MFA spokesman said.
