DUSHANBE, January 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Incomes of Tajikistan’s largest commercial bank, open joint-stock company (OJSC) Orienbonk, rose 19.7 percent in the year to December 1, 2008, reaching 196.5837 million somoni, according to Orienbonk’s head office in Dushanbe. As of December 31, 2007, the bank’s incomes had amounted to 164.133 million somoni.
In 2008, Orienbonk’s assets reached 1,099,272,300 somoni and its loan portfolio rose over the report period 45 percent, 753.8236 million somoni. As of December 31, 2008, deposits in Orienbonk have amounted to totaling 674.6488 million somoni.
In the meantime, Orienbonk’s net profit last year amounted to 8.942 million somoni, which was only 43 percent of the 2007 level. This considerable decrease resulted from reduction in receipt of money in the second half of 2008 that was caused by effects of the global financial crisis on liquidity of economic entities, the source at Orienbonk’s head office aid.
In 2008, 566,717,300 US dollars were remitted to Orienbonk, which is 188 million US dollars more than in 2007.
