KHUJAND, January 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- In the northern Sughd province, the TB rate has been 55 per 100,000, the Sughd health directorate chief Dalil Toshmatov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, it is the lowest TB rate in the country. “TB-preventive activities are organized in the province in accordance with a plan for combating tuberculosis in the Sughd province in 2003-2010,” Toshmatov said, noting that one regional TB center, 14 district and four city TB centers now function in northern Tajikistan. 76 physicians currently work with these centers.
