KHUJAND, February 4, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The first regional job fair for local unemployed women is expected to be held in Khujand this month, chairperson of the Sughd committee for family and women’s affairs, Ms. Matloubakhon Sattorova, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to her, they suppose to hold such job fairs quarterly. Similar job fairs will be held in other cities and districts of the province as well.
She noted that they did not have information about the exact number of employed women in the region. “However, 295 women applied to the committee last year asking to help them get access to land for farming,” Sattorova said.
