DUSHANBE, February 5, 2009, Asia-Plus - Leaders of member nations of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) have agreed to establish an anti-crisis fund and set up an international high technology center for the implementation of innovation and venture projects, according to presidential press service.
These issues were among the main items for discussion at the EAEC summit that was held in Moscow yesterday.
The fund of 10 billion US dollars is dedicated to become an effective instrument of countering negative phenomena in the economy and finances of the member states.
According to the kremlin.ru, Russia will contribute 7.5 billion US dollars to the anti-crisis fund and share of Kazakhstan will amount to 1 billion US dollars, while other member nations of the Community – Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan – are to determine their contributions to the fund within a month.
Leaders of the EAEC states also exchanged views on the issue of the creation of the International High Technology Center with a view to implementing in the Community space of scientific-technical programs, innovation and venture projects. Co-founders of the center are a number of organizations. The Supervisory Board members include heads of relevant ministers and organizations from the EAEC member nations.
