DUSHANBE, February 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Police have seized a large amount of raw opium in Khatlon’s Farkhor district.
According to Ministry of Interior (MoI), operation by police officers led to the arrest of Afghan national Gulogho valadi Saidogho in the Gulshan jomoat, Farkhor district on February 26. More than 25 kilogram of marijuana was confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the Afghan drug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
As it had been reported earlier, more than 6,000 kilograms of drugs were seized in Tajikistan last year.
