KULOB, May 7, 2009, Asia-Plus -- 5,000 residents of the city and the district of Kulob were vaccinated against typhoid today, the Kulob head sanitary physician Jamshed Rafiyev said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, mainly persons from two high-risk groups – occupational groups as well people living in typhoid-prone areas – have been vaccinated. “Among them 2,100 medical workers, 1,010 teachers, 180 employees of community services, 628 students from the Kulob Medical College as well as residents of two streets in the city of Kulob and residents of four villages in the Kulob district,” Rafiyev said.
