KHUJAND, May 21, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Construction of a small hydropower plant with capacity of 500 kW has been launched in the village of Panjroud in the northern Panjakent district.
According to the Panjakent mayor’s office, the power plant is supposed to be finished by the end of this year. The source added that two small hydropower plants -- Artouch with capacity of 500 kW and Tilloboy with capacity of 100 kW – had been built in the district this year. The plants have been built due to private funds, he said.
We will recall that in all, 50 small hydropower plants are to be built in the country this year.
