DUSHANBE, May 27, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) yesterday broke up a drug-smuggling gang dealing with transporting narcotics to Russia in especially large amounts, according to the DCA press service.
Tajik national S.H. was arrested in Roudaki district on May 26 on suspicion of having been involved n drug trafficking. When searching his car, drug control officers found 12 packages containing 11.69 kilograms of heroin.
“The preliminary investigation has established that narcotics belong to S.H. and another accomplice to this crime, M.B.,” the press service said, noting that the counternarcotics agency is carrying out operation to reveal other persons involved in that crime.
