DUSHANBE, June 15, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A large amount of narcotics was seized in Khatlon’s Farkhor district last Thursday night, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The source at a MoI said that an operation carried out by police officer in the village of Marghzor, Farkhor district on the night of June 12-13 led to the arrest of local resident A.H. 28 kilograms of narcotics, including 24 kilograms of marijuana, 2.5 kilograms of heroin and 1.5 kilograms of raw opium, were confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against A.H., and an investigation is under way.
