DUSHANBE, June 20, 2009, Asia-Plus  --The Ministry of Education (MoE) has set up working groups for selection of students for studying on a quota system.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, First Deputy Minister of Education, Farhod Rahimov, said that 1,200 seats were allotted at Tajikistan’s universities for students from remote areas of the country.

“On June 22, the groups will travel to Gorno Badakhshan, Khatlon and Sughd provinces, as well as Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan) to interview school leavers in order to select those who will study at higher educational institutions on the quota system,” the deputy minister said.
