QURGHON June 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Farmers in the southern Khatlon province have yielded more than 90,000 tons of grains to this date, which is 30.7 of this year’s target, according to Abdul Ibrohimov, an agronomist with the Khatlon agriculture directorate.
“This year, Khatlon farmers have planted grains on 155,500 hectares and they have gathered grains from 43,000 hectares so far,” Ibrohimov said.
He says that grain yields of 2.9 ton per hectare have been reported, which is 0.88 tons more than last year.
