KULOB, August 21, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Kulob power engineering specialists are taking adequate measures to prepare local power systems for the winter period.
The head of the Kulob electric systems Mirzo Ismoilov told Asia-Plus today that nearly 50 percent of funds earmarked for these purposes have been spent for rehabilitation of the electric systems unit in the Baljuvon district.
According to him, major repairs to five kilometers of two overhead high-voltage lines and transformer in Baljuvon have come to 407,000 somoni.
“Over the past seven and half months, 844,000 somoni worth of reconditioning and major repairs have bee made to 28 facilities in the Kulob zone,” said Ismoilov, “The main attention today is paid to ensuring regular work of substations and high-voltage lines in autumn-winter period.”
