DUSHANBE, September 11, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Since 2000, some 1,500 kilometers of roads have been rehabilitated and constructed as well as some 400 kilometers of tunnels and bridges have been built in Tajikistan, according to the press service of the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
Over the past five years, more than 7 billion somoni have been provided from the national budget for enhancement of transportation, communications and agrarian sectors as well as ensuring food security in the country.
Besides, the national budget has allocated 4.9 billion somoni for development of the social sector over the past five years. The national budget for this year alone has earmarked 2.6 billion somoni for the social sphere, which is 1.3 billion somoni more than last year. Social spending accounts for 44 percent of this year’s budget allocations.
