DUSHANBE, September 26, 2009, Asia-Plus -- An exchange rate of the dollar against the Tajik national currency, the somoni, has gradually decreased, according to the National bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
The rate of the dollar against the somoni in currency exchange offices in Dushanbe and the Sughd province is currently 1:4.41-4.42.
In the meantime, average exchange rates of the Russian ruble and the euro against the somoni have slightly increased to 10:1.45-1.46 and 1:6.46-6.50 respectively, the NBT press service said, reporting large demand for the somoni.
Official exchange rates set by the NBT for the dollar, the euro and the Russian ruble on September 25 are 1:4.40, 1:6.46 and 10:1.43 respectively.
