KULOB, October 2, 2009, Asia-Plus -- The first 50 conscripts from Kulob were sent to serve in the armed forces yesterday.
The chief of the Kulob military registration and enlistment office, Colonel Mahmadrasoul Roziyev, told Asia-Plus that they would serve in the Border Troops and the National Guards.
He added that 30 percent of young men called up for the military service in the area during the autumn conscription campaign were volunteers.
