DUSHANBE, January 21, 2010, Asia-Plus – On Tuesday January 19, Ambassador Ken Gross participated in a dedication ceremony at the new Customs Training Academy in Dushanbe, press release issued by the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe said.
The new building will be an improved facility for training Customs Officers. The United States Embassy in Dushanbe as part of its Export Control and Border Security program (EXBS) provided the classroom furniture, computers, monitors, printers, projectors, and audio/video equipment for a general classroom and two computer classrooms. The U.S. Embassy also gave a ten passenger van to the Customs Training Academy.
The United States Embassy will continue to support infrastructure enhancements to the Customs Training Academy. The embassy will sponsor a partnership between the U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) and the Customs Academy to develop and modernize the training curriculum.
To date, the value of the support provided to the Customs Academy is approximately $200,000.
