DUSHANBE, March 18, 2010, Asia-Plus  -- A directory of Tajikistan’s means of mass communication in the Tajik language, Ma’lumotnomai Vasoiti Irtiboti Ommai Tojikistan, was printed in Dushanbe today.

The public association, The Academy of Mass Communication (AMC), has brought out this directory.

The AMC source says the directory contains list of newspapers, magazines, news agencies, publishing houses, TV and radio companies and communications operators (name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail, as well as the number and date of registration) functioning in Tajikistan.

“The directory includes the mass communication means that were registered with the ministries of culture and justice,” he noted, adding that the directory was printed with a circulation of 1,000 copies and it will be distributed to the governmental bodies, universities, NGOs, mass communication means as well as international organizations and diplomatic missions active in the country free of charge.

According to the source, the directory has been compiled and published in the framework of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Civil Society Program (CSP), which is implemented in Tajikistan with financial support from the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
