KULOB, April 21, 2010, Asia-Plus -- After being closed for more than three months, the Kulob brickworks has partially resumed operations.
“15 of 200 workers that were asked at the end of last year to take three-month leave without pay are currently working at the plant as we received a small order for bricks from local residents,” the source said, noting that the plant has not been in operation since the beginning of the year.
In 2009, the Kulob brickworks produced some 2.5 million bricks while its rated capacity is 4 million bricks per year.
