DUSHANBE, May 4, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Mr. Hassan Ghashqavi, Deputy Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Affairs, Iran’s MFA, is arriving in Dushanbe today afternoon on a five-day working visit, according to the Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe.
The source says the purpose of the visit is for Mr. Ghashqavi to discuss with Tajik officials issues related to the establishment of a Tajik-Iranian joint consular commission.
During his stay in Tajikistan, Mr. Ghashqavi is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi and Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Shukurjon Zuhurov to discuss issues related to consular cooperation and simplification of visa regime for nationals of the two countries.
Ghashqavi’s visit to Tajikistan is expected to result in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on consular cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran.
Mr. Ghashqavi is also scheduled to meet with Iranian nationals living in Tajikistan.
