DUSHANBE. June 3. “Asia-Plus” -- One officer of the Tajik Drug Control Agency of the Tajik Interior Ministry reported wounded by unknown armed group.
The accident occurred yesterday at Mayhura check point (on the Dushanbe-Khujand road) which is involved in the “Poppy” special counter-narcotic operation. Check point is staffed with traffic police officers and drug fighters, Tajik Interior Ministry told the AP.
“Traffic police officers have stopped Opel-Vectra vehicle and one of the officers, Bahrom Soliev, was going to inspect the vehicle. However, the driver and a passenger have opened fire, wounded the police officer and escaped from the scene in local mountain area,” the source reported.
Witnesses say the criminals made seven shots and wounded Soliev into his stomach. One bag with detonator and Walter pistol with silencer were found in the car.
The criminals are now wanted by the police.
