Dushanbe. June 22. “Asia-Plus” -- Concession agreement between Tajikistan and Innovative Road Solutions LTD (IRS) has been declared absolutely legal. This documents meets all requirements and standards of international legislation, Tajik Ministry of Transport and Communications said today in a release.
According to the release, expert group consisted of representatives of Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Tajik Ministry of Finance, Justice Ministry, Ministry of Transport and Communications, Tajik State Committee on Investments and State Property and Tajik Antimonopoly agency.
“The commission was entrusted to conduct an expertise of the agreement signed by the Government of Tajikistan and IRS. The results of the expertise showed that the company’s activity on the territory of Tajikistan is legal and we have no other claims to it,” the source said.
On April 1 this year two first-ever tolling plazas opened at the Dushanbe-Chanak road on the territory of Varzob region. The population and chairman of Varzob region urged the Government of the Republic to revise the newly introduced tolling mechanism since they claimed that such innovative system is quite burdensome. The Tajik Antimonopoly agency suggested the Government of Tajikistan to set up a special commission to investigate the case.
