KHUJAND, August 5, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Over the first seven months of this year, labor migrants have remitted 338.8 million U.S. dollars to banks in Sughd province, which is US$65.4 million, or 23.9 percent, more than in the same period last year, according to the branch of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) in Khujand.
Last month alone, labor migrants from Sughd remitted 77.8 million U.S. dollars to local banks, which is US$16.1 million, or 26 percent, more than in July 2009, the source said.
