DUSHANBE, October 22, 2010, Asia-Plus -- An H1N1-2009 (swine flu) immunization campaign was launched in Tajikistan on October 18, Navrouz Jaffarov, the head of the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiologic Supervision at the Ministry of Health (MoH), told Asia-Plus today.
According to him, 670,000 doses of the H1N1 vaccine have been delivered to country under support of the World Health Organization (WHO).
“At-risk groups such medical workers, mothers-to-be, persons suffering from chronic diseases, law enforcement officers, border guards, communications workers, firefighting service officers ad some others will be vaccinated,” Jaffarov said, noting that a special commission for the H1N1 vaccination has been set up at a MoH.
The H1N1-2009 immunization campaign will run in the country until October 25.
