DUSHANBE, November 11, 2010, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the Interior Ministry department for combating drug trafficking (drug police) have seized more than 70 kilograms of narcotics in Dushanbe.
According to the drug police department, an operation carried out by drug police officers in Dushanbe yesterday led to the arrest of three drug peddlers. “More than 70 kilograms of narcotics, with part of them being heroin, were confiscated from them,” the source said, noting that the drug pushers were going to transport the narcotics to Russia via Sughd province.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug pushers and an investigation is under way.
