KHUJAND, July 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Fifty-five new industrial enterprises have been introduced into operation in northern Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, Sughd governor Qohir Rasoulzoda announced at a news conference in Khujand on July 13.
According to him, the new enterprises have created 1,067 new jobs and the major part of those enterprises manufactures products for export.
“In all, some 100 new industrial enterprises are expected to be introduced into operation in the province by the end of this year,” the governor said.
According to the statistical data from the Sughd regional administration, 276 industrial enterprises now operate in Sughd and over the first six months of this year, the province has produced a total of 1.6 billion somoni worth of industrial goods, which is 16.3 percent more than it was originally planned.
