KULOB, July 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- The new cotton-ginning factory, Tilloi Safed-F, based in the city of Kulob, has produced the first 331 tons of cotton fiber to date, Deputy Kulob Mayor, Rustam Nematov, told Asia-Plus Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Pakhtai Kulob cotton ginnery has produced only 16 tons of cotton fiber over the first six months of this year. Compared to January-June of 2011, the index of volume of production of cotton fiber amounted to only 6.2 percent.
The city of Kulob has reportedly produced a total of 62.7421 million somoni worth of industrial goods in January-June of 2012, which is 4.6023 million somoni more than in the same period last year.
