DUSHANBE, August 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A fire has destroyed a private shopping center, Hojiyon, in the Vahdat Township, some 17 kilometers east of Dushanbe.
The Interior Ministry press center repots the fire broke out in the building, which houses several shops and one café, Monday morning. “Three shops and a café were destroyed by the fire and damage caused by the fire has been estimated at some 620,000 somoni,” the source said.
According to him, five fire crews from Dushanbe and Vahdat participated in extinguishing the fire and they managed to salvage more than 400,000 somoni of property. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
