DUSHANBE, August 22, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Two Tajik nationals who have been stuck in Abkhazia for six months because of lack of appropriate documents managed to return home yesterday due to long negotiations between the Tajik Embassy in Moscow and Russia’s relevant bodies, an official source at the Tajik Embassy in Moscow told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, Nourillo Abdulloyev, 32, from the Isfara district in Sughd province and Sunatullo Ibrohimov, 25, from the Vakhsh district in Khatlon province, went to Abkhazia six months ago via Russian territory.
“Since they did not have appropriate documents, they were prohibited from crossing into Russia,” said the source. “Taking into consideration multiple appeals from the Tajik Embassy in Moscow and Tajik Diaspora in Sochi, the Russian authorities have permitted Abdulloyev and Ibrohimov to transit via Russian territory.”
