ISFARA, October 2009, Asia-Plus -- All six fruit-and-vegetable-processing enterprises in Sughd’s Isfara district now operate in full capacity, Qurbiddin Eshonov, the head of the Isfara economy and economic reforms department, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the joint-stock company, The Isfara Cannery, alone has received more than 580 tons of apricots and 600 tons of tomatoes for processing. The enterprise has produced more than 10 million conventional jars of output to this date.
In all, the Isfara cannery plans to produce more than 13 million conventional jars of various juices and preserved fruits and vegetables this year.
All six fruit-and-vegetable-processing enterprises of the district have produced more than 22 million conventional jars of preserved output to this date, which is 4 million conventional jars more than last year, Eshonov said.
