DUSHANBE, April 6, 2011, Asia-Plus -- State and prospects of further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were discussed here on April 5 at meeting of Tajik Minster of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali with Turkmen Ambassador to Tajikistan Nokerguly Ataguliyev.
Bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and industry was a major topic of the meeting, the source at Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) said.
The sides also considered issues related to the upcoming third meeting of the Tajik-Turkmen commission for trade and economic cooperation that will take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan in the second half of May. The meeting is expected to focus on bilateral cooperation between the two nations in sectors like energy, transportation, education, sciences and culture.
The previous second meeting of the Tajik-Turkmen economic commission was held in Dushanbe on November 12, 2009, the source said.
