It took 60 heavy trucks up to 40 days to pass Shahristan mountain pass on the Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak road. The road was closed by the traffic police due to bad conditions of the road. Accompanied by the traffic police on June 1 40 vehicles have finally passed the dangerous section of the road.
At the same time, several heavy trucks still remain there. AP reporters talked to one of the drivers from Ukraine who still remains blocked on the road.
“We were promised to be accompanied by the traffic police as soon as first trucks successfully pass this section,” Nikolay said in a telephone conversation with AP. “However, 4 days have passed and we are still waiting here.”
He said 21 heavy trucks, including 11 Ukrainian and 10 Turkish, remain blocked on the road.
