DUSHANBE, September 24, 2012, Asia-Plus  -- The 2nd international organization entitled “Advantage of Mobile Technologies for Development of E-Government in Asian Countries” is taking place in Dushanbe from September 25-26.

International experts from Georgia, Moldova, the Philippines, India, South Korea, Russia, and Afghanistan are participating in the conference that is organized by the Council for Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) under the President Tajikistan jointly with the Association of Internet Service Providers of Tajikistan and other interested organizations under the financial support of the Tajik Branch of the Institute of Open Society/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF-Tajikistan) and the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

According to OSCE/AF-Tajikistan, the main objectives of the conference are in acquainting various parties with positive experience of some countries in developing e-government based on mobile technologies, discussing local initiatives on e-government, presenting and analyzing the master-plan on implementation of the concept for development of the e-government of Tajikistan, studying role of e-government in strengthening of information culture and information security, and working out recommendations for relevant public institutions.

A series of roundtables on advantages of mobile technologies for promotion of e-government will take place from September 27-28.

E-Government (short for electronic government, also known as e-gov, digital government, online government, or connected government) is digital interactions between a government and citizens (G2C), government and businesses/Commerce (G2B), government and employees (G2E), and also between government and governments /agencies (G2G).

This digital interaction consists of governance, information and communication technology (ICT), business process re-engineering (BPR), and e-citizen at all levels of government (city, state/province, national, and international).
