DUSHANBE, July 17, 2013, Asia-Plus – Over the first six months of this year, Tajikistan has produced a total of 4.456 billion somoni (equivalent to nearly 940 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to the same period of 2012 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to nearly 106.6 percent.
Processing industry has reportedly accounted for 64.9 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced last year, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water have accounted for 22.7 percent and mining industry has accounted for 12.4 percent.
Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 52 items (57.8 percent) increased, and the output of 25 items (27.8 percent) decreased last year. Thirteen basic types of industrial products (14.4 percent) were not manufactured.
