Dushanbe. 19 August. “Asia-Plus” – According to “Barq-i Tajik” electricity company, over 156 million kWh of Tajik electricity has been supplied to neighboring Afghanistan in July of this year.
According to the Tajik electricity company, this amount is 10.7 percent of the total electricity production in the country in July (1 billion 575 million kWh).
“Barq-i Tajik” says that electricity export into Afghanistan for the month of July by comparison to June has increased by 36.7 percent. Electricity production in July, however, has increased only by 4.5 percent.
Meanwhile, electricity consumption in Tajikistan for the month of July has reached above 1 billion 417 million kWh, which is almost 6 percent higher than in the month of June. However, the electricity company stresses that electricity consumption in June was 43 kWh less than in the same period last year. We will remind that in July 2012 consumption volume had reached 1 billion 460 million kWh.
