DUSHANBE, January 15, 2014, Asia-Plus – A Working Group (WG) to analyze the main aspects and opportunities of further development of the secondary securities market in Tajikistan has recently met in Dushanbe.

According to the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of Tajikistan, the meeting discussed the main problems of development of the secondary securities market and stock exchanges in the country as well as the main priorities of the WG activity.   

The WG will thoroughly analyze all existing problems and its specific proposals and recommendations for developing this sector will be discussed at the next meetings of the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate, the source said.  

The WG was set up in December 2013 and its members include specialists from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management, and the Consultative Council for Improvement of Investment Climate under the President of Tajikistan.

Securities market is an economic institute within which takes place the sale and purchase transactions of securities between subjects of the economy, on the basis of demand and supply.

The secondary market, also called aftermarket, is the financial market where previously issued securities and financial instruments such as stock, bonds, options, and futures are bought and sold.
