DUSHANBE, April 22, 2014, Asia-Plus -- CENTCOM Joint Theater Support Contracting Command (C-JTSCC) awarded contracts with Tajikistan vendors at $1 million 110 thousand during 2013-2014 under the Portal to Central Asian States (CAS) Business Project, according to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe.

Tajikistan companies reportedly won furniture contracts for delivery to Afghanistan.

Procurements are made through request for quotes under the Portal to CAS Business, a project funded by C-JTSCC.  The Portal to CAS Business Project is designed to help entrepreneurs and producers of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan establish business contacts with the United States Government’s Contracting Authorities.

“C-JTSCC will give preference for commodities produced in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan when procuring for Afghanistan,” says Almaz Dushembiev, the Portal to CAS Business Project Manager.

C-JTSCC procures construction materials, furniture, electronic items, medical equipment, generators, retention items, printed items, household and office equipment, and other requirements as necessary for delivery to Afghanistan.

“Procuring in Central Asian States for Afghanistan C-JTSCC supports business and production development in Tajikistan and other Central Asian States,” Almaz Dushembiev says.  “In order to pursue these goals the Portal will provide businesses of Central Asia with advisory support free of charge, including a number of training events.”

The next free training event for entrepreneurs and producers of Tajikistan will take place at Dushanbe’s Hyatt Regency Hotel on April 29, 2014 at 9.30 a.m. local time.  Businessmen and businesswomen of Tajikistan will have opportunity to ask C-JTSCC representatives questions about participation in procurements.
