DUSHANBE, September 18, Asia-Plus – Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sharif Rahimzod yesterday received a mission of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), led by IsDB’s Almaty Office Director Hisham Taleb Maarouf.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) press center, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the Islamic Development Bank. They, in particular, discussed the progress of implementation of IsDB-supported projects in Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Nematjon Bouriyev, on September 16 met here with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The results of socioeconomic development of Tajikistan in 2013 were among major topics of the meeting.
The sides also discussed the progress of implementation of EBRD-funded projects in the country as well as opportunities of bilateral cooperation on enhancement of Tajikistan’s energy sector, the source said.
