DUSHANBE, April 30, 2015, Asia-Plus -- The National Association of Small and Medium Business of Tajikistan (NASMBT) has convened the roundtable on legislative procedures regulating the handicraft sector.
The meeting, which is part of the EU-funded project, Handicraft and Business through Regional Integration and Fair Trade Market, took place in the conference hall of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on April 29 and its participants included state authorities, stakeholders and entrepreneurs of the handicraft sector.
They reportedly discussed future development of the handicraft sector, legislative procedures regulating the handicraft sector and ways to approach the international market.
It should be noted that the project is implemented in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan by the international NGO Cesvi, together with three regional partners: the National Association of Small and Medium Business of Tajikistan and the Union of Craftsmen, in Tajikistan, and the Bishkek Business Club in Kyrgyzstan.
The overall objective of the project is to promote the private sectors of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with a special emphasis on the regional integration of the handicraft sector. This objective will be achieved through capacity building and support to Tajik and Kyrgyz handicraft intermediary organizations.
