DUSHANBE, May 8, 2015, Asia-Plus – On Thursday May 7, Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, Parviz Davlatzoda, received Mr. Viorel Gutu, FAO representative in Tajikistan.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Nations Food Agriculture Organization (FAO).

They, in particulars, discussed the progress of implementation of the FAO projects in Tajikistan, the source said.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger and ensure food security globally. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO acts as a neutral forum where all nations meet as equals to negotiate agreements and to debate policies.  FAO is also a source of knowledge and information, and helps developing countries and countries in transition modernize and improve agriculture, forestry and fisheries practices, ensuring good nutrition and food security for all.
