DUSHANBE, January 14, 2016, Asia-Plus -- Bokhtar Operating Company B.V. (BOC), a company owned by Total E&P Tajikistan B.V. (Total), CNPC Central Asia B.V. (CNPC) and Kulob Petroleum Petroleum Ltd. (KPL), announced today that it has completed its first phase of petroleum operations.

BOC is the operating company of Total, CNPC and KPL which undertakes the petroleum operations within the Bokhtar block located in the southern part of Tajikistan.

As part of its 2014-2015 work program, BOC has acquired 820 Km of 2D Wide Line seismic and 594 Km Magneto-Telluric data.  It is the first time that such a complex seismic operations are performed in Tajikistan in order to image the deep horizons (down to 12,000 m) of the Bokhtar block.  It is worth noting that around 1000 local jobs were created during this campaign.

As world premiere, a large scale passive seismic campaign 8000 km2 was also performed using the natural seismicity of Tajikistan and the state of the art technologies of the Petroleum Industries.

Processing and interpretation of these high technology data are being performed through a major integrated study, the results of which will dictate the future operations to be performed in order to explore the entire 36,000 km2 Bokhtar block during the next 5 years.
