DUSHANBE, July 18, 2016, Asia-Plus – Over the first six months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power, has amounted to more than 1.939 billion U.S. dollars, which was 97.2 percent of the January-June 2015 level or 56.6 million U.S. dollars fewer, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance in January-June this year has been negative and amounted to more than 1.060 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods over the report period have reportedly amounted to 439.4 million U.S. dollars, which was 4.4 percent or 18.7 million USD more than in the same period last year.

Over the same six-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to some 1.5 billion U.S. dollars, which was 4.8 percent or 75.3 million USD fewer than in January-June, 2015.

Over the first six months of this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 99 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the report period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – about 508 million USD; China – more than 483 million USD; Kazakhstan – 307.7 million USD; Turkey – 152 million USD; etc.
