The State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Dushanbevodokanal (DVK -- municipal waterworks) plans to raise water supplies more than 20 percent beginning on October 1, 2016.
The Antimonopoly Agency has partially complied with the DVK proposal to raise water prices for residential customers.
“Starting from October 1, the price of one cubic meter of water for residential customers will be raised from 0.51 somoni to 0.62 somoni,” Saidali Zaripov, an official with the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
Meanwhile, Firdavs Jabborov, the head of the FVK water sale department, says that the price of one cubic of water for the federally funded organizations will be raised from 0.52 somoni to 1.15 somoni beginning on January 1, 2017.
We will recall that the SUE Khojagii Manziliu Kommunali (KMK -- the state holding company for public utilities), last year raised water prices on average by 38 percent.
The State Unitary Enterprise Khojagii Manziliu Kommunali provides water supply services to all regions of the country, except Dushanbe. In Dushanbe, the State Unitary Enterprise Dushanbevodokanal (DVK -- municipal water works) provides the water supply services.
