A conference “Uzbekistan - Trade Finance 2018” took place in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on November 7-8 in Tashkent. The First MicroFinanceBank Tajikistan (FMB) participated in the conference in extension of the framework of cooperation on Trade Finance between FMFB and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
It was a good opportunity for FMFB to establish partnership with Uzbek banks and other foreign partners to promote Trade Finance and assist their clients-entrepreneurs to more actively trade with foreign partners and thus contribute to the development of the country's economy. The boarders are opening up and there is good environment for increased business between the two countries.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provides support for development of international trade by financing and training the banks. An example of such partnership in Tajikistan is the agreement for a new Trade Finance line for the First MicroFinanceBank to the amount of US $ 1 million under the Trade Facilitation Program (TFP).
The First MicroFinanceBank provides a full range of banking services through its nationwide network of 7 branches and 30 Banking Services Centers. This network covers all regions of Tajikistan including remote areas of the country. Being a partner of EBRD since 2007, FMFB has always cooperated in the implementation of EBRD projects and has successfully participated in various EBRD programs.
