The Ministry of Finance is expected to launch the project on concessional financing of startups founded by women, people with disabilities and young people returning from migration, Siyovoush Bobokhonov, lending specialist at the Finance Ministry Project Development Unit, noted at an expert meeting on February 28.

The expert meeting entitled “Accessibility of Lending for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” was organized by the Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IEPR) Office.

According to Bobokhonov, the project will probably be launched in three or four months.

“The startups will be partially (up to 50 percent) financed free of charge,” the Finance Ministry representative noted.

He stressed that many project that had been fully financed free of charge had remained unimplemented, “because recipients probably did not feel responsible.”
