Tajik Deputy Prime Minister has received Mr. Pascal Lorot, Adviser to the President of France for Economic Issues in Central Asia, according to the Prime Minister Secretariat.

The two reportedly discussed state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and France.

Azim Ibrohim reportedly outlined sectors like tourism and light industry as areas, which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.

“Dozens of French companies working in Tajikistan’s markets today cannot cover the existing potential of bilateral economic opportunities in full volume,” Mr. Ibrohim stressed.

Mr. Lorot, for his part, reportedly asked the Tajik side to provide promising projects of investing in Tajikistan’s economy for consideration to Paris.

The French side also showed interest in establishing cooperation with Tajikistan in manufacturing textiles and leather products, the Prime Minister Secretariat said.
