Tajik civil aviation authorities are preparing statement regarding the possible resumption of flights between Russia and Tajikistan.  They will also comment on selling by some Russian airlines of air tickets for flights from some Russian cities to Tajikistan.

A reliable source told Asia-Plus on June 4 that the Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan will release a statement regarding of selling of air tickets by some Russian airlines.

“The Civil Aviation Agency is preparing a statement regarding resumption of flights in some Russian cities and selling of air tickets by some Russian airlines,” the source said.

Some Russian air carriers have begun selling air tickets for flights from Moscow to Dushanbe on their official websites.

Thus, Russian airline Ural Airlines offers air tickets for flights from Moscow to the Tajik cities of Dushanbe and Khujand beginning on July 13 and a Russian low-cost airline Utair says on its official website that it will begin operating flights from Moscow to Dushanbe on June 30.

Some users were indignant that this is fake information while some others said that they had already bought air tickets for July 8, 2020.

“My friend from St. Petersburg called me today and said that she bought an air ticket for July 8,” Ms. Rano Samatova writes.

Recall, air traffic between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation has been suspended in late March this year due to the coronavirus crisis.  However, several charter flights have been operated to repatriate Tajik nationals stranded in Russia and Russian nationals stranded in Tajikistan.
