The first Tajikistan-Uzbekistan interregional investment forum is being held in Bokhar, the capital of the Tajik southwest Khatlon province, today.

175 entrepreneurs and heads of state-run enterprises of Uzbekistan have reportedly arrived in Bokhtar.

The forum participants are reportedly discussing agreements on implementation of large investment projects as well as bilateral contracts that are planned to be signed during the forum.

While in Khatlon, Uzbek delegation will visit “Danghara” and “Panj” free economic zones (FEZs).

Some experts note that holding of such forums will allow achieving the declared goal to increase a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to 1 billion U.S. dollars.
