During 2021, an overall space of 1,430,300 square meters in residential buildings were made available in Tajikistan, the Head of the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Government of Tajikistan Mahmadsaid Zuvaidzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on February 4.
According to him, 12,499,500,000 somonis worth of construction and installation work was carried out in the country last year.
Residential buildings in the country were constructed mainly by entities of the non-governmental sector.
During the past year general educational schools to accommodate 26,887 and hospitals with a total of 212 beds have been put into operation, and polyclinics that can handle a total of 666 visits per shift were introduced.
Besides, preschool institutions to accommodate a total of 2,137 children were commissioned into operation last year.
Meanwhile, Ulughbek Umarzoda, the First Deputy Head of the Committee for Architecture and Construction, told reporters that an overall space of 446,342 square meters in residential buildings were available last year in Dushanbe alone.
According to him, the current average price for one square meter in residential buildings in Dushanbe is 599.00 U.S. dollars.
Last year, 450,247 square meters in residential buildings were made available in Sughd province, 334,059 square meters in residential buildings – in Khatlon province, 176,389.1 square meters in districts subordinate to the center (RRP), and 23,252 square meters in residential buildings – in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
